5 out of 5 - January 13, 2004

I rate this DVD. Its layout and content are faultless. It uses multiple angles to show the 108/116 dummy movments and its menu system is strong. Applications are linked to the specific portions of the form - very useful. The dvd medium excells as a teaching medium over VHS.

A word on style: I think this is form is very similar to Pan Nam's Wing Chun varient and possibly will differ from other styles e.g. Yip Man - but this is not 'a problem' - its a fact. I saw the heated review re: michaels wong's Siu Lung Tao and the issue of lineage. It *IS* worth stating lineage so the student can acquire the relevant books *if* they want to co-ordinate their materials s as there is diversity out there in Wing Chun forms. Luckily for the dummy form it doesnt matter if there are differences between sub-wing chun styles as the applications are blatently obvious in most cases. This is less so, however, for the first 3 forms where verbal descriptions are needed to identify reasons for 'shapes' in some cases. BUT becuase there are diversity in styles dont be affraid or caught up in the issue of authenticity etc.
