| Wing
Chun is widely recognized as one of the fastest fighting
styles in the world. It has the speed and directness of action
that is difficult to match. Ideal for self defense,
as a starting point for further study of Martial Arts
or simply as a hobby. Wing Chun is both challenging
and rewarding and can be practiced anywhere.
This DVD will take you from the first form Sil
Lim Tao, to its application in real situations and real
time sparring. Using a lot of fast, hard, real techniques
will prepare you for the real world and teach you how to deal
with the forces of combat.
You will learn from this DVD how to step, punch,
kick and how to apply all the techniques from the first form.
The DVD will give you understanding of the movement and will
show you how it is actually used against another person.
Later on in your training you will participate
in real time leg sparring sessions that will build stamina,
condition your body and teach you how to deal with different
opponents.
The DVD uses live presenting rather than voice
over. Master Wong talks direct to you and guides
you along step by step and move by move. There is 3 hours
of training footage that will give you a whole and complete
foundation to the Sil Lim Tao.

Michael Wong's martial art videos are some of
the best I have purchased. The quality of the video and the
audio is superb. The DVDs are nicely laid out and are easy
to navigate. Master Wong is even humorous is his own way.
The Sil Lim Tao video consists of seven separate lessons.
In addition, the Sil Lim Tao form is broken down into 10 video
segments that show a portion of the form along with 'real'
applications of that same portion. His DVDs include a segment
on basic equipment along with a few extras. A 5 to 10 minute
introductory video shows the aspects of the entire DVD in
a well staged action sequence. All together, there might be
nearly two hours of video on this DVD.
Clearly, there is no substitute for class room
instruction. These videos do provide a fundamental grounding
in the techniques and are well worth the cost. Getting all
the videos is probably what you would have paid for a month
in the gym anyway. After watching the videos you'll have a
pretty good idea about Wing Chun and whether you want to make
the investment in further instruction. For U.S. customers,
these videos are in the '0' format so they will play on your
U.S. DVD players. I believe you will be very, very pleased
with the quality of these DVD.
