5 out of 5 - 9 Sep 2006
This movie was absoloutely brilliant. The action
sequencs were amazing and the special effects were outstanding.
This movie was slightly darker than the other films featuring
3 deaths from crucial characters. Famke Janssen (I spy, Hide
and seek) gives a marvelous performance as Jean who after
being resurrected has changed a great deal and is now the
malevolant Phoenix!
Sir Ian mcKellen ( Lord of the rings, the davinci
code) as usual outshines everyone as the master of magnetism
as he leads an army of rebellious mutants who are attacking
the humans for making a 'CURE' for mutancy. Rogue obviously
has mixed feeling about this as we see her go into the building
in which powers are tken away....
Kelsey Grammer ( The big empty, teachers pet)
gives a long awaited performance as the furry beast! as does
Ben foster(alpha dog, hostage ) in his role as the winged
angel. The storyline mixes two of the most crucial series
in x-men history together, the war with magneto and dark phoenix.
Halle Berry aka. storm ( die another day, swordfish) gets
much more crucialrole in this film but i warn you that if
you are a cyclops fan you will be very disappionted as will
you be if you are a mystique fan.
Professor X , Patrick Stewart (eleventh hour,
Bambi 2) faces a sad end in this film. Wolverine, Hugh jackman
(Van Helsing, standing room only) for once is not the centre
of attention but plays a crucial part in the phoenix storyline.
This movie does not dissapiont and you will
be watching it over again!!!
