This book is a fantastic intoduction to karate
for beginners and also an excellent reference point for more
advanced karate-ka. Good intorductions to basic moves are
given along with a short introduction to kata and kumite.
Photographs are clear and show step-by-step movements. The
spiritual side of karate - often neglected in some textbooks
- is also included here. I would highly recommend this book
to anyone interested in the martial arts and I would also
strongly suggest the aquisition of the other books in the
Best Karate series as they are equally well-written and provide
essential reading for all karate-ka. The only downside is
that the photographs are black and white, not colour but this
does not affect the quality of this little book in any way.
