Advanced Karate Shotokan DVD is a follow up to the successful Beginning
Shotokan Karate DVD and goes much further. This production
takes you from the level of 4th kyu (purple and white belt)
right the way through to shodan (black belt) level.
All aspects are covered in detail including
all the basics required for these levels from punching, open
hand striking, kick and blocking techniques as well as the
combinations required for each grade.
All the kata requirements for each level are
clearly shown and demonstrated at slow and normal speeds.
Kata included on this DVD are: Tekki Shodan, Bassai
Dai, Jion, Kanku Dai, Ten No Kata
as well as Heian Sandan, Yodan and Godan
in ura form.
Kihon Ippon Kumite (one step sparring)
for 4th kyu level is demonstrated with the introduction of
Hanme Dachi. Preparatory positions in anticipation
of the attack are clearly demonstrated as well as Ju Ippon
Kumite (semi-free sparring) for all levels of brown belt
grade. Various blocks and counters are shown.
Also included throughout the DVD are Juute
Kumite (free-fighting) techniques and combinations in
attack and defence to assist all levels of brown belts and
advanced grades.
This DVD is ideal for all levels and especially
senior grades and instructors as a reference guide to enhance
their training or teaching levels.
