This is in general a good source for all those
who wish to get their head around Jun Fan techniques and principles.
It is clearly written and readers can quickly understand the
photographs and appropriate descriptions although Mr Seaman
insists on being "right lead forward " for all photos,
which may be the original principle of Jun Fan, but is sometimes
difficult to follow for flexible martial artists who do not
always adhere to this. The terminology reference is excellent
and you can look up all sorts of otherwise obscure terms! The
footwork chapter is one of the best. Photos are fine but I
do sometimes feel that JKD and Jun Fan practitioners could
dress a bit less scruffy, especially if a camera is on them! Kicks
are not the strong point of this book though and one or two
are questionable. All in all, though, if you are looking
for a good introduction to Bruce Lee's 70's fighting style, this
is as good as there is.
