So You Want
To Learn Self-Defense
In most martial arts schools today you can take regular lessons
and add some self-defense classes. But there is still the problem
of the effectiveness of the martial art and the so called self-defense
moves being taught. It has been my experience that many of the martial
art methods being taught in the United States are not completely
functional in today's world. You have Tae Kwon Do schools, Karate
schools, Ju-Jitsu schools and Kung Fu...

Basic Chi Sao Training
Basic training in Teng Sau is required before Kiu Sau (Bridge Arm)
and Khum Na (Locking) can be applied effectively. In fact the former

Clever
Techniques And Simple Principles Applied On The Wooden Dummy
Wing Chun is a wonderfully fluid martial art with practices and
techniques that flow nicely from form to form, with locks, throws
and strikes. However, they all take practice, and if you go to a
martial arts school, you'll find that school time is best devoted
to lessons with hands on help and sparring, so you can see how those

A
Dummy Can Teach You How to Flow Smoothly From Technique to Technique
Wing Chung is a martial arts discipline that deals with striking
and position control. Wing Chung wooden dummy training is a common
way to practice strikes and foot control. The wooden dummy used
for training is called a Mook Jong. Wing Chung wooden dummy training
allows a Wing Chung student to practice making contact, which is
a very important part of the discipline since Wing Chung striking
is all about control and precision. You cannot gain precision by
punching and striking air. The Mook Jong gives the student a target
and allows them to feel the impact of the strike which helps develop
his or her sense of touch...

The Devastating Martial Arts That Made Bruce Lee Famous
In order to learn Wing Chun, it is important to understand the
history behind it. There are many versions of how Wing Chun came
into being. Some say it was started by Ng Mui, a Buddhist nun who
developed it over 300 years ago in southern China and named it after
her student, Yim Wing Chun. While others believe it was started
by a Shoalin monk in the early to mid 1700s...
